![]() Use them on my kid's Mustang and my wife's Wrangler, no squeaks, no dust, smooth stops and last forever (my wife went through the factory pads on her Wrangler in one year, since then, the Pro Stops are about half worn after 3 years, not too shabby). On top of low prices, Advance Auto Parts offers 14 different trusted brands of Front Brake Pads products for the 2004 Mercedes-Benz C230. Removing the rotors isnt too much more work. Changing out the pads is relatively simple unless the rotors have a shoulder worn into the edges of the disc. OEM rotors costs just under 50 for each side. There's lots of posts here on brake pad recomendations that you can search for and also, I believe Pep Boys carries their brand for the c230 and I like their ceramic pads from Pro Stop. We currently carry 34 Front Brake Pads products to choose from for your 2004 Mercedes-Benz C230, and our inventory prices range from as little as 29.33 up to 137.52. Front pads cost around 50 for OEM type replacements. So I throw out some good rotors, but it's not worth $30 to mess with it, especially when the Ford dealer wanted over $300 just for pads, and I put in pads and rotors for less than half that.ĭesignEx, don't know who makes them for your year, for mine, Akebono makes good pads and I've used them on my kid's SLK and they are nice, but more money than factory pads. For example, on my kid's Mustang, $15 each to get old rotors cut, but 2 round trips to the auto supply store, 2 hour wait in between OR, get new rotors for $30 each. On other cars, even though I can get them cut, it's not worth my time. I know some people just throw pads over worn rotors, but I drive mountain roads, hard to explain to a Texan how steep it is, but we have a vacation home that's at about 5,300' and it's a brutal twisty mountain road and going downhill is not a time to question wether it was a good ideal to have saved $180 for a pair of rotors, so I just assume that rotors will be necessary on this car. On some models I've gotten only 20K miles out of pads and was able to cut the rotor every other set (MB rotors have historically been soft). I would image that they will need to be changed soon, but with that many miles, the rotor is probably worn too thin to cut. I have 45K miles on my C230 with the orignal pads/rotors. ![]() I think it's because of the cross drilled holes, but it could be thickness. Dmensik, I've been asking the same question for a while with no good answer. ![]()
